While the transparency is cool... WTF at putting half a billion dollars into a single pay-to-pubkey-hash address.
That's completely insane. Use multisig. And prove to the world that you're using multisig.

Folks are raising eyebrows because Bitwise used a single key wallet instead of a multi-sign one.
What is a multi-sign wallet?
Let's imagine you and your two best friends decide to create a special piggy bank together.
You all put your pocket money into this piggy bank but there’s a rule: any time someone wants to spend this money, at least two out of the three friends must agree to open the piggy bank together.
This is similar to a multi-signature or 'multi-sig' wallet in the world of crypto.
Each of you in this situation is like having a 'key' to open the wallet.
So, if two of you agree and use your keys then you can open the wallet.
This way, one person cannot go and spend the money all by themselves, making the wallet more secure.
If Bitwise does not utilize a multi-signature wallet, the funds of individuals could be at risk since a singular person with the key might potentially misappropriate the funds.
After Peter Todd made the above tweet, Bitwise replied that they would address this issue.
@BitMEXResearch will raise this to the coinbase custody team. they definitely have an offchain multisig model but it being provable onchain is a good point.

What is offline staking?
Imagine you've got a digital piggy bank (your offline wallet), but instead of just sitting there, it's making more digital coins for you, just because you decided not to spend them. That's offline staking for you.
Getting on the train:
Pick a coin: not all coins are created equal. Find one that likes to play the offline staking game.
Find a hardware wallet (like Ledger): get a digital wallet that supports your chosen coin's couch potato ways.
Toss 'em in: move your coins into the wallet, set it up for staking, and voilà! You're in the money-making lounge.
If you want to explore this topic further, I recommend the following article:
Will Solana continue to outperform ETH and BTC?
In the digital gladiator arena, ETH flexes its muscles against the feisty altcoins, but Solana (SOL) is the underdog that's been moonwalking through the ranks, especially after its dance-off with the FTX drama.
The SOL/BTC ratio has been on a rollercoaster, dipping and diving from 0.0011 to 0.0005 SOL/BTC, like a seagull at a beach picnic.
Despite the setbacks, SOL rose by a whopping 300% against BTC since October 2023, while ETH watches from behind. 😢
So, what's the moral of this crypto comic strip?
In the digital colosseum, it's anyone's game.
SOL outperform Bitcoin with 300%.

Amid the chuckles, Algorand assured everyone their digital fort was still impregnable, no real harm done.
